ISPO is a multi – disciplinary organization comprised of persons who have a professional interest in the clinical, educational and research aspects of prosthetics, orthotics, rehabilitation engineering and related areas.

ISPO presently has 2,800 members worldwide in 84 countries. National Member Societies have been established in 35 countries.

Membership provides the opportunity for professional involvement and contacts with those of similar activities and interests. It makes available information on best practices in all aspects of the field – research, education and service.

Most importantly, however, membership of the Society gives the best opportunity for the individual to shape the future in this area of activity both nationally and internationally. ISPO holds it’s World Congress every 3 years where people working in both low-income countries and developed countries gather to share their opinions, enhance their understanding, and to create a better standard across all nations.
